  • Claude skill for c++ formatting and naming conventions
  • 16 novembre 2025 par
    CTech Metrology, Luc Wens

When Claude generates code examples, it uses the Google convention and places the opening brace at the back of the line, something I hate.

Additionally, there are naming conventions that I want it to follow, the ones from Xenomatix make alot of sense.

So in order to adopt Claude to these rules I can make use of the recently introduced Claude Skill's, and I use Claude to create me a new skill based on the typical .clang format from CTrack and the Xenomatix naming conventions which can be found in D:\Dropbox\C-Tech\Customers\Xenomatix\Coding guidelines.

The process of creating the skill is here : https://claude.ai/share/be9b8e5d-cd1c-43be-8545-c05faca30108

    The created files are

    files.zip

Installing the skill is pretty straighforward, click on Upload skill and drag the .skill file there. That's it.
